KUNG PAO SHRIMP

Large shrimp seasoned in white pepper, corn starch & salt. Then cooked in veg.oil, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice wine, chili garlic sauce & more. Easy to make but tastes amazing! You won't be able to resist the spicy goodness, So good!!!

Equipment

  • Wok, Mixing Bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lbs large shrimp - peeled and deveined
  • 1 onion - roughly chopped
  • 1 cup portabella mushrooms - sliced
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice wine
  • 1/4 tsp chili garlic sauce - Sambal or other brand
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl add shrimp, corn starch & white pepper & salt. Mix well & set aside.
  • Heat a non stick Wok. Once heated add veg.oil to wok. Next add chopped onion, saute until translucent.
  • Next add mushrooms and saute for a minute.
  • Now add soy and hoisin sauces, rice wine, & chili garlic sauce. Mix well.
  • Next add shrimp, mix well, saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add salt and crushed black pepper to taste. Saute for 30 seconds.
  • Wallah! Your King Pao Shrimp is done! Transfer to serving dish/bowl. Enjoy!

Please make sure you do not cook more than 2 minutes or it will become rubbery and won't taste good.
This is an amazingly delicious, spicy dish that can be enjoyed by itself or with steamed rice. Bon Appetit!
