Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowl For marinating chicken with spices & yogurt
  • 1 Sheet pan/Baking sheet For baking/cooking chicken tikka

Ingredients
  

Ingredients For Preparing Marinade:

  • 4 tbsp hung curd/yogurt
  • 1.5 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp mustard oil - if not available use cooking oil
  • 2 tbsp Kashmiri red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp cumin-coriander powder mix
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp dry fenugreek/methi leaves - hand crushed

Other Ingredients

  • 2 LBS chicken breast - cut into longer pieces
  • 3 to 4 tbsp melted butter

Instructions
 

  • Prepare marinade by mixing ingredients listed for Preparing Marinade in a bowl. Set aside
  • Add chicken breast pieces to marinade, mix well
  • Cover and refrigerate marinated chicken overnight or at least for 6 hours
  • Preheat oven to 400* F
  • Remove chicken from fridge 1 hour before cooking
  • While oven is heating up skewer marinated chicken pieces
  • Place chicken skewers in a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil
  • Place in oven for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes turn skewer and cook chicken for 10 more minutes
  • Remove chicken from oven and brush with melted butter
  • Place chicken pieces back in oven for 5 minutes at 450* F
  • Your delicious, tender & juicy Chicken Tikka are ready!
  • Transfer to serving dish and serve with red onion slices. Enjoy!
