Chicken Tikka - Spicy Chicken Kebabs
Equipment
- 1 Mixing bowl For marinating chicken with spices & yogurt
- 1 Sheet pan/Baking sheet For baking/cooking chicken tikka
Ingredients
Ingredients For Preparing Marinade:
- 4 tbsp hung curd/yogurt
- 1.5 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 tbsp mustard oil - if not available use cooking oil
- 2 tbsp Kashmiri red chili powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp salt to taste
- 2 tbsp cumin-coriander powder mix
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/4 tsp garam masala
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp dry fenugreek/methi leaves - hand crushed
Other Ingredients
- 2 LBS chicken breast - cut into longer pieces
- 3 to 4 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- Prepare marinade by mixing ingredients listed for Preparing Marinade in a bowl. Set aside
- Add chicken breast pieces to marinade, mix well
- Cover and refrigerate marinated chicken overnight or at least for 6 hours
- Preheat oven to 400* F
- Remove chicken from fridge 1 hour before cooking
- While oven is heating up skewer marinated chicken pieces
- Place chicken skewers in a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil
- Place in oven for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes turn skewer and cook chicken for 10 more minutes
- Remove chicken from oven and brush with melted butter
- Place chicken pieces back in oven for 5 minutes at 450* F
- Your delicious, tender & juicy Chicken Tikka are ready!
