Chicken Breast Recipe-How To Make Chicken Breast In Cast Iron Skillet
Juicy & Tender Chicken Breast Recipe
Equipment
- Cast Iron Skillet, Mixing bowl
Ingredients
For Marinating Chicken Breast
- 1 cup plain yogurt - whisked
- 1 tbsp cumin-coriander powder mix Available at Indian Grocery Store & Amazon
- 1 tbsp green chili-ginger mince
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- crushed black pepper & salt to taste
For Cooking Chicken Breast
- 1 large chicken breast about 750 grams
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
Marinating Chicken
- Mix all ingredients listed above for preparing marinade to a mixing bowl. Mix well
- Place chicken breast between shrink wrap and pound it with meat tenderizer to flatten
- Remove flattened chicken breast from shrink wrap and place it in bowl with marinade
- Make sure chicken breast is coated well with marinade. Cover bowl with lid or shrink wrap and refrigerate for 4 to 6 hours.
Cooking Tender & Juicy & Flavorful Chicken Breast
- Remove marinated chicken breast from refrigerator and set aside for 20 minutes. This will bring it to room temperature and will help cook it evenly
- Preheat large cast iron skillet. Once hot reduce heat to medium and add olive oil
- Place marinated chicken breast in cast iron skillet. Make sure to shake off excess marinade before placing it in the pan
- Cook both sides of the chicken breast for 4 minutes each on medium flame-setting
- Do not move, check or flip chicken breast until it is cooked for 4 minutes per side!
- This will ensure nice sear and even cooking on both sides
- Once done, remove chicken breast from cast iron skillet and set aside for 4 to 5vminutes
- Do not cut/slice chicken breasts until then or juices will run off and it will become dry
- Make sure to cover chicken breast with aluminum foil while it rests.
- Wallah! Your tender, juicy & flavorful chicken breast is done. Slice into pcs and serve/savor

- Flatten chicken with Meat Tenderizer per instructions mentioned above
- Do not move, touch, flip chicken while cooking for 4 mins per side
- Let cooked chicken breast rest covered for 5 minutes to keep it tender & moist
