Shrimp Tostadas Recipe I Tostadas de Camarones
Equipment
- 1 Mixing bowl
- 1 nonstick pan/skillet
Ingredients
Ingredients For Shrimp Marinade
- 2 cloves finely chopped garlic
- 1 Tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground red pepper
- 1 Tbsp lime juice
- Salt & crushed black pepper to taste
Ingredients For Cooking & Assembling Shrimp Tostadas
- 3 Yellow corn tortillas
- 15 Medium Easy-Peel Raw Shrimp (deveined)
- 2 Tbsp Olive oil
- 1 Medium red onion - diced
- 1 Tomato - diced
- 1 Avocado - peeled and diced
- 1/2 Cup shredded Mexican cheese
- 9 Jalapeno slices - from store bought jar
- Fresh cilantro leaves
Instructions
- Place shrimp & all ingredients for marinade in a bowl. Mix well, set aside
- Preheat a large nonstick frying pan on high heat
- Once hot place corn tortillas in frying pan
- Toast for 1.5 minutes per side, or until they firm up and become tostadas
- Remove tostadas from pan, set aside
- Next reduce heat to medium setting & add olive oil to pan
- Swirl pan to coat evenly then place shrimp in it
- Cook shrimp on both sides until cooked but not overcooked - 3 mins total
- Remove shrimp from pan, once cooked, set aside
- Place 3 tostadas that we set aside earlier to a serving dish/platter
- Layer with diced red onion, tomato, cooked shrimp, avocado & jalapenos
- Garnish with shredded Mexican cheese & cilantro leaves
- Drizzle Crema over the tostadas
