Amazing Grilled Shrimp & Dipping Sauce

Grilling/BBQ is a very popular & beloved American cooking tradition. Friends & family having a good time in their backyards or parks while meats, seafood & veggies are grilled on a grill/smoker. This activity happens during summertime and on long weekends. I have created a delicious grilled shrimp recipe that is easy to make yet extremely delicious. Best of all, it can be cooked indoors on your stovetop. All you need is a grilling pan!

Ingredients
  

Ingredients for Shrimp Skewers

  • 8 large shrimp - deveined & cleaned with shell on
  • 1 whole onion - sliced
  • 1 whole red or green bell pepper/capsicum - sliced

Ingredients for Marinade

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp tsp garlic powder
  • salt & crushed black pepper to taste

Ingredients for Dipping Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup crema or Sour Cream
  • 1 tsp stone ground or Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp chili-garlic sauce like Sambal

Instructions
 

Method - Preparing Shrimp Skewers

  • Get 8 clean & deveined large shrimp with shell on
  • Soak 2 wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes then
  • Skewer 4 shrimp, onion and bell pepper slices by alternating them on first skewer
  • Repeat process on 2nd skewer, set aside
  • Next in a small bowl add marinade ingredients listed above. Mix well
  • With a basting brush apply marinade to shrimp & veggies skewers
  • Make sure to apply marinade on both sides
  • Once done, cover with shrink wrap and refrigerate for 20 minutes

Method - Preparing Dipping Sauce

  • In a small bowl add all ingredients listed above under Dipping Sauce. Mix well, set aside

Method - Grilling Shrimp

  • Remove marinated shrimp from fridge, set aside for 20 minutes
  • Next heat nonstick Grilling Pan on medium-high setting
  • Spray olive oil to heated pan
  • Place shrimp/veggie skewers & lemon slices in grilling pan
  • Grill marinated shrimp skewers - 2 minutes per side
  • Do not overcook shrimp or it will taste rubbery!
  • Once done, transfer grilled shrimp & veggie skewers on serving platter
  • Place dipping sauce bowl and grilled lemon slices around it
  • Wallah! Your amazingly delicious Grilled Shrimp is ready!
  • Remove shell from shrimp, squeeze lemon on it
  • Enjoy with our zesty & delicious dipping sauce (recipe included above)!
