Chicken Shish Kebabs – How To Make Ground Chicken On Skewers

CHICKEN KEBABS

Ground chicken seasoned with onions, cilantro, cumin/coriander powder, salt, pepper, paprika, ginger/garlic paste, green chili paste, turmeric and more. Marinated overnight then cooked in the oven. Delicious and healthy too! No pan frying or sauteing.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs ground chicken - buy it ready made or grind it in food processor
  • 1 onion- finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp coriander/cumin powder mix
  • 2 tbsp wheat flour
  • 1 tsp paprika/red chili powder
  • 1 egg - beaten
  • 2 tbsp garlic paste (or chopped finely)
  • 2 tbsp ginger paste (or chopped finely)
  • 1 tbsp green chili paste ( or chopped finely)
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro/coriander
  • 1/2 tsp dry mango powder - amchur
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions
 

  • Mix all ingredients with ground chicken in a mixing bowl. Refrigerator overnight or at least 4 hours
  • Preheat oven to 375*F
  • Layer 2 cookie sheets/oven pan with aluminum foil or parchment paper
  • Skewer marinated chicken kebab mix on to 6 skewers. Using warm water to press down on the skewers. If you don't have metal skewers used wooden disposable ones after soaking them in water for 30 minutes.
  • Place skewers on baking sheet edges so that the meat is not touching the pan. Cook in oven for 20 minutes or golden brown. Turn skewer once after 15 minutes so that other side gets cooked too.
  • Remove Chicken Kebab Skewers from oven and brush them all over with melted butter. Stick a tooth pick in one skewer to make sure kebabs are cooked completely.
  • Transfer to serving plate. Wallah your Chicken Kebabs are done!

Notes

These Chicken Kebabs are so tender and flavorful you won't be able to stop eating them. You can have them either with Naan/other Indian flat breads, Basmati rice or as appetizer by itself. It is sure to be a hit with everyone!
