TUNA TARTARE
Equipment
- Mixing bowl, round metal ring for plating
Ingredients
- 1 sashimi grade tuna steak - raw
- 2 tbsp finely chopped onion
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp chopped cilantro
- 1/2 thinly sliced green chili
- 1/4 tsp sesame seeds
- 2 tsp ponzu sauce - store bought- sold in a bottle
- salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 slices sushi ginger - store bought - sold in a jar
Instructions
- Cut sashimi grade tuna steak into tiny pieces. Do not cook tuna! transfer to mixing bowl.
- Add onion, sesame seed, cilantro, green chili, sesame oil, salt n pepper to tuna. Drizzle Ponzu sauce on it. Mix everything well.
- In a round metal container transfer mixture from bowl. Press down everything.
- In a soup bowl turn the metal container upside down transferring tuna mixture to it.
- Pour Ponzu sauce around tuna mixture in soup bowl. Garnish on top with sushi ginger.
- Wallah! Your delicious Tuna Tartare is ready!
