Salmon Tacos-How To Make Fish Tacos-Mexican Street Food

Salmon Tacos/Mexican Street Food/Fish Tacos-By Gastro Guru
Equipment
- Nonstick pan, mixing bowls
Ingredients
Marinade for Salmon
- 1 tbsp Cumin/Coriander powder mix
- 1 tsp Red chili powder
- 1 tbsp TBSP Lime juice
- Salt to taste
For Making Salmon Tacos
- 2 pcs Soft tortillas warmed up in a hot pan/10 seconds each side
- 2 pcs Salmon Fillet medium size pcs - I used Atlantic Salmon
- 2 cups Shredded Cabbage seasoned with salt & fresh of lime juice
- 1/2 Red onion finely chopped
- 1 whole Avocado mashed into chucks, seasoned with fresh lemon juice and salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro leaves roughly chopped for garnish
Instructions
Marinating Salmon Fillets
- First in a small bowl mix ingredients listed above for marinade. Brush salmon fillets with the marinade. Set aside
Preparing Cabbage Slaw
- Next add salt and lime juice shredded cabbage, set aside
Cooking Salmon Fillets
- Now heat up a non stick pan, add cooking oil once pan is hot
- As soon as oil starts to smoke add salmon fillets to pan
- Pan-Sear Salmon fillets, skin side down, for 2 mins per side
- While Salmon is cooking mash up avocado with fork. Season with salt to taste & lime juice. Set aside
- Once skin/bottom is crispy and Salmon is cooked remove from pan, set aside
Building Salmon Tacos
- Now warm 1 soft tortilla in another pan on both sides, transfer to plate
- Layer warm taco with cabbage slaw
- Next break 1 salmon fillet into chunks and place on top of cabbage
- Now add Avocado/Guacamole and half of the chopped red onion
- Garnish with fresh cilantro. Repeat same process with to build second taco
- Wallah! Your delicious Salmon Tacos are ready! Bon Appetit!
