TUNA FISH CAKES
Equipment
- Mixing bowl, Nonstick pan
Ingredients
To Make Fish Cakes
- 2 steaks Sashimi/Sushi grade Tuna - roughly minced
- 1/2 Onion - finely chopped
- 3 cloves Garlic - Minced
- 3 tbsp Veg. Oil
- 1 tbsp Green Chili/Ginger paste
- 1/2 tsp Red pepper powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander/Cumin powder
- 1/2 cup Cilantro - chopped
- 1 pinch Turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
For Dipping Sauce
- 2 tbsp Fresh lemon juice
- 2 tbsp Fish Sauce
- 1/4 cup Cilantro - chopped
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp water - to dilute sauce - optional
Instructions
- Mix all the ingredients, except veg. oil, listed under 'To Make Fish Cakes' in a mixing bowl.
- Make round patties out of uncooked tuna mixture.
- Heat pan, add veg oil. Once oil is hot reduce heat to medium low and cook tuna fish cakes. 2 minutes per side.
- Remove tuna fish cakes to a plate with paper towel to soak up excess oil.
- While the tuna fish cakes rest, make dipping sauce as follows: Mix fish sauce, lemon juice, cilantro, salt & water in a small serving bowl.
- Place Dipping Sauce in serving plate in the middle and put Tuna Fish Cakes around it.
- Wallah! Your Tuna Fish Cakes are ready!
