Shrimp Tostadas Recipe I Tostadas de Camarones
My Step by Step, delicious Shrimp Tostadas recipe for you! Yellow corn tortillas toasted on high heat in a hot pan instead of frying. Next tostadas are layered with red diced onion, tomato, spicy shrimp, avocado, Mexican cheese & pickled jalapeno pepper slices. Finally garnished with fresh cilantro & Crema!

Ingredients For Shrimp Marinade
- 2 cloves finely chopped garlic
- 1 Tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground red pepper
- 1 Tbsp lime juice
- Salt & crushed black pepper to taste
Ingredients For Cooking & Assembling Shrimp Tostadas
- 3 Yellow corn tortillas
- 15 Medium Easy-Peel Raw Shrimp (deveined)
- 2 Tbsp Olive oil
- 1 Medium red onion - diced
- 1 Tomato - diced
- 1 Avocado - peeled and diced
- 1/2 Cup shredded Mexican cheese
- 9 Jalapeno slices - from store bought jar
- Fresh cilantro leaves
Place shrimp & all ingredients for marinade in a bowl. Mix well, set aside
Preheat a large nonstick frying pan on high heat
Once hot place corn tortillas in frying pan
Toast for 1.5 minutes per side, or until they firm up and become tostadas
Remove tostadas from pan, set aside
Next reduce heat to medium setting & add olive oil to pan
Swirl pan to coat evenly then place shrimp in it
Cook shrimp on both sides until cooked but not overcooked - 3 mins total
Remove shrimp from pan, once cooked, set aside
Place 3 tostadas that we set aside earlier to a serving dish/platter
Layer with diced red onion, tomato, cooked shrimp, avocado & jalapenos
Garnish with shredded Mexican cheese & cilantro leaves
Drizzle Crema over the tostadas
