Amazing Carne Asada Tacos-How To Make Skirt Steak Tacos
EASY TO MAKE & SO DELICIOUS! My Carne Asada tacos are made with skirt steak marinated in cumin powder, red chili powder, lime juice and salt. They are served on warm flour tortillas & garnished with onion, tomatillo salsa and cilantro. These tacos taste amazing!

For Cooking Carne Asada
- 1 pound skirt steak - marinated in a bowl, covered overnight, or at least for 4 hours in refrigerator
- 2 tbsp cooking/veg. oil
Ingredients For Marinating Skirt Steak
- 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 1 tbsp cumin powder
- 1 tbsp red chili powder - use less if you want it too spicy
- salt to taste
Ingredients For Garnish
- 6 tbsp tomatillo salsa - store bought or home made
- 1/2 onion - chopped
- some fresh cilantro leaves
Cut skirt steak into large pcs so that it fits in a nonstick Grill Pan
Note: If you are going to grill it on a large outdoor grill you don't to cut it
Marinate skirt steak in marinade ingredients listed above
Next preheat a Grill Pan.
Once grill pan is smoking spray it with cooking oil
Now place skirt steak in grill pan
Grill in batches if necessary, for 2 minutes per side
Once skirt steak has nice sear and is cooked transfer to cutting board
Let the skirt steak rest for 5 minutes prior to slicing it
While steak is resting warm up 3 flour tortillas in a new pan
Place warm tortillas on a serving dish
Now slice the grilled Skirt Steak/Carne Asada against the grain
Put sliced skirt steak on top of the 3 tacos in equal portions
Garnish tacos with tomatillo salsa, chopped onion & fresh cilantro
Wallah! Your delicious Carne Asada Tacos are ready!
